Madison Square Pedestrian Arcade

There’s not a lot to say about these shots except that they were all in and around the pedestrian arcade at Broadway below 23rd Street. The bikes were locked up beside each other to the racks. (These are called CITYRACKS. Did you know that?) The Tree Bike had a whiny missive in front of it about losing childhood illusions and wanting them back. I thought about taking a picture of it, but just as quickly decided against it. I don’t want to seem to be promoting escapism.

The demand to give up illusions about the existing state of affairs is the demand to give up a state of affairs which needs illusions.
